Farm irrigation

Farm irrigation is not only about the irrigation of crops and land; During the summer months many animals can be prone to overheating. Getting too hot causes severe distress to the animals; the most efficient way of providing cooling for these animals is to fill the surrounding air with a very fine mist.

The Misting Nozzle as used in greenhouse irrigation is designed to deliver such a fine mist that the water has evaporated before the droplet reaches the animal. This has the added benefit that animal does not get damp. The humidity is the cooling factor and a 5-second burst of misting will significantly reduce the ambient temperature within the surroundings of the animals.

For year after year the favoured method of irrigating field grown crops was by the use of rain guns which are capable of irrigating large areas in a relatively short period of time. There are however drawbacks to this method of agricultural irrigation with large water requirements, time consuming movement of equipment, crop damage, inefficient irrigation on windy days and machines getting stuck in wet areas. With the addition of labour cost added into the equation farmers and growers are looking at alternative methods of agricultural irrigation.

Agricultural Irrigation Supplies can be employed to look at the various needs of the large scale cereal farmer, landscaper and horticulturist. These can include 1.Agricultural and horticultural clear water crop irrigation and land dispersal of dirty water and 2.Industrial rain water harvesting, environmental dust suppression and odour control.

Drip irrigation or trickle irrigation as its name suggests delivers water at or near the root zone of plants drop by drop. This method can be the most water efficient method of agricultural irrigation, if managed properly, since evaporation and run off are minimal.
