Frequently Asked Questions about Irrigation Lances
Q: What’s the difference between metal and plastic soft rain lances? A: Metal lances offer superior durability for heavy commercial use and resist damage from drops or impacts, whilst plastic lances provide excellent value for lighter applications and are ideal for greenhouse environments where weight matters.
Q: Are these lances compatible with my existing irrigation system? A: Our lances feature Geka compatibility, the industry standard for professional irrigation systems. The threaded 3/4″ male connections ensure compatibility with most commercial hose systems.
Q: Why should I invest in a telescopic lance when standard lances cost less? A: Telescopic lances eliminate the need for ladders or platforms when watering elevated crops or hard-to-reach areas, improving safety and efficiency whilst reducing labour time significantly.
Q: How long do these professional lances last? A: With proper maintenance, our metal lances typically provide 5-10 years of commercial service, whilst plastic options offer 2-4 years depending on usage intensity and storage conditions.
Q: What maintenance do irrigation lances require? A: Regular cleaning of filters and gauze elements prevents blockages, whilst proper winter storage and occasional lubrication of moving parts ensures optimal performance throughout the growing season.
Q: Can I use these lances for chemical application? A: Our lances are designed for water irrigation; for chemical applications, consult our technical team to ensure material compatibility and comply with agricultural regulations.
Q: What’s included with the Geka Pro Lance? A: The Geka Pro Lance includes the lance body, soft rain attachment, and necessary seals, though specific fittings may need to be ordered separately depending on your connection requirements.
Q: Are replacement parts available for these lances? A: Yes, we stock filters, gauze elements, nipples, and handles separately, ensuring you can maintain your equipment cost-effectively rather than replacing entire units.
Q: How do I choose the right lance for my application? A: Consider your crop height, required flow rate, and frequency of use. Contact our technical team with your specific requirements for personalised recommendations based on your irrigation setup.
Q: Do you offer bulk pricing for multiple lances? A: Yes, we provide competitive pricing for commercial quantities. Contact us directly with your requirements for a tailored quotation
